Papers of William Overall Yager [manuscript] 1854-1915.

The papers contain law licenses for Texas and Kansas, commissions as probate judge, notary public, postmaster, and county surveyor; certificates of election to the Virginia House of Delegates from Page Co., appointments as superintendent of Page Co. schools; various Civil War orders and reports for the First Texas Cavalry Regiment including documents signed by Henry Eustace McCulloch, letters regarding Confederate cotton, Reconstruction, and Civil War service, clippings, and photographs including a carte de visite of General H.P. Bee. With these is the diary, 1880-1894, of Judge James Kenney of Harrisonburg, Va. containing weather records and brief personal entries.

Hamilton P. Bee held several public offices for the Republic of Texas and served in the Texas state legislature from 1849 to 1859. He was a Confederate brigadier general, first as administrator of the lower Rio Grande district, then as a field commander during the Red River campaign under Lieutenant General Richard Taylor.
